Really happy with this cutter head. It was easy to install and noticeably quieter than the stock “spiral style” cutter head. The quality of cut is much better too.

What surprised me most is how much easier the jointer seems to work. I can take a deeper cut and feed the board faster, and the machine still feels like it’s working less than it did with the stock cutter head.

Good upgrade for an old sturdy machine. Fast shipment. Product was well packaged and arrived without any issues. The machine is much quiter and the wood finnish is excelent. Be aware that the drive pully on the old shaft is a pain to remove, and this one is machined a little smaller so it has to be glued with locktite.

Sheartax was very responsive. After I ordered, they contacted me to get measurements from the sears OEM cutters which is needed to custom fit the spiral cutter to the sears outfeed table which is not adjustable. After receiving new cutter, installation was easy. The new cutter is quieter and cuts like butter compared to my old nicked sears blades. I watched YouTube videos on how to get the OEM cutter out and they were confusing on the sequence of removing the snap rings holding the bearings.shaft and cutter, however I figured it out.

Great cutting head! Much quieter than the original, and the finish requires very little sanding. The first head I was given was the incorrect head, but it was replaced within 2 days.

This is the second helical head I've installed into my machines from Sheartak. Both have been excellent quality and packaged very well. Lookup installation instructions for this planer on their YouTube channel - video titled "16 inch Auto Planer installation". Scott Walsh explains the process very clearly.

10/10 would recommend. Installation video was thorough and made for a quick job. Cutterhead works wonderfully on difficult and figured hardwoods.

I purchased the 18” cutterhead for my Woodmaster model 718 planer and am totally satisfied with the performance and quality of the head. I am a machinist by trade and recognize quality when i see it. The new head is extremely quieter than the conventional straight knife design. Installation went well.Thanks for a well made piece.

We've only been running this for about 2 weeks but so far it has been a great improvement over the original knives. The inserts lost their initial sharpness but are stil producing a very high quality surface and we will definitely be investing in these for our other two KP123's as they need new drums.

The spiral cutter head for my King industrial KC-60fx arrived promptly. After a quick email I was sent the installation instructions. Removal of the old head and installing the new head was quite easy. I would not follow many of the YouTube videos on the subject of changing out the heads as they are more complicated than necessary. The Sheartak instructions were the most useful.

I have used the jointer since and the effectiveness of the carbide spiral head cutters just blows the straight steel knives out of the water!

The torque wrench works great for properly tightening the insert screws on my Sheartak helical cutter head

Sheartak was the only supplier that had a helical cutter for my 2008 JET jointer and I was a bit hesitant when ordering it, not sure that it would fit and concerned that it might require rework or modification in some shape of form. I was pleasantly surprised that it was machined perfectly, fitted without a problem and works like an absolute dream, it cuts like a hot knife through butter. Thanks Sheartak and thanks to all the friendly staff who work there!

Der Einbau ging mit 3– Krallenabzieher und Flaschenzug als Spezialwerkzeug ohne Probleme zu zweit. Nach 6 Stunden konnte das erst Brett gehobelt werden.
Das Ergebnis wunderbar, wie poliert!
