Griggio

Griggio, founded in 1946 by Giovanni and Guerrino Griggio in Padua, Italy, started by repairing machinery and making band saws. After acquiring a lathe and drilling machine from BREDA, they expanded into producing band saws and sliding table saws by 1953.

After Giovanni's death in the 1950s, his son Paolo took over and expanded the company internationally in the 60s and 70s, with growth in markets like Germany, Spain, and the U.S. The 1980s saw technological advancements, including numerical control machines.

In the late 80s, Paolo expanded into the Soviet Union, replacing outdated Soviet machines with Italian technology. By 1996, Griggio produced 340 machines monthly, had 90 employees, and achieved ISO 9001 certification.

In the 2000s, Griggio became a global leader in woodworking machinery, focusing on safety innovations like the UNICA SAFE sliding table saw. In 2016, Paolo passed the company to his son Filippo, who continued the family legacy with new partners, ensuring further growth and innovation.
